From North or South of Elk Grove take I-5 exit at Elk Grove Blvd.  Turn left onto Harbour Point Drive.  Make an immediate right into the McDonald's parking lot after turning the corner.  The McDonalds is on the Northeast corner of the intersection of Elk Grove Blvd and Harbour Point Drive.  Ask for the walk box at the counter.

Charlie Fowble (1934-2012) learned of volkssporting as a mail carrier in Lynwood, Washington and was an avid participant for 22 years. Once retired, he traveled the USA in his RV to walk/bike as many YREs (Year Round Events) as he could, keeping a journal of each. He stopped traveling and joined the Sticks September 2006 and shortly thereafter developed 2 YREs that he could walk from his doorstep which he did daily for many years. In 2009 he walked/biked all the YREs in California and died in 2012 with 2 states shy of finishing up the Special Program booklet Walking the US (50 States). Ascending onto and traversing the levy on the southern loop may be difficult for wheelchairs. Water and restrooms at the start. McDonald's is open daily from 6am-9pm.
