River and Miller Park

 

Description:

 

This walk goes along the Sacramento River along a bike trail and includes Miller Park and a stroll through the historic Sacramento City Cemetery. Some of the Sutter and Donner Party are buried here. Stroll through the world renowned rose garden of the cemetery and admire one of the most beautiful Lady Banks roses around. The cemetery often has history tours on weekends and some evenings. They are worth joining on your walk. Google the cemetery for information.

From Business 80/US 50 westbound take the 16th St. Exit onto W St, staying in left lane. Go straight one block to 15th St and turn left. Turn right on Broadway. Turn left on Riverside Blvd. Land Bark Pet Supply is on your right. Parking is available at the far end of this strip mall or on side streets (watch for hour limitations).

The walk box is to the left of the door in the window.  Restrooms may be available across the street at the gas station.  Water is available to purchase at the gas station.  Wheelchairs would need to adjust their route a bit in a couple of spots, but t is easily doable.  CA Counties: Sacramento
